It is interesting how this is one of the early elmars, ment to work screwmount, and no, that it has been wrongly put together, it has sort of changed into something which can only be used in live view accurately. I wonder if there are any people who can focus accurately, scale focusing. I had to try 5 or 6 shots scale focusing on an M42 29mm Pentacon on the M8; I had to fit something large in the picture frame from a close distance. I think it is relative to the different ways this lens can be used, on a screw mount, on an M, an M8, a live view camera, even with out the focusing mechanism focusing correctly. I like older lenses, the gradual tonal variation, missing the extreme detail which I think is not needed, kind of like abstraction vs photorealist painting. But then again I am sentimental, basing my choices to instict, keeping logic to the minimal. Braque said:"...I love logic because it corrects emotion...". Alberti Posted October 27, 2020 Share #23 Β Posted October 27, 2020 (edited) So what happened? The whole story reminds me of the crony "Elmars" that are sold on Ebay but in fact are fake screw pount Russian lenses with a slightly different focal lenght and register distance. That also would explain the questions from the repair man. Anyway, for those who like that source, buy the gold one, then it really shows off.Β Edited October 27, 2020 by Alberti
