phlogiston1 Posted June 8, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted June 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had some scanned jpegs I wanted to work on in the new Ramera Raw window. These images would not open. My prefs were set to enable jpegs and Tiffs to open. I then opened them in PS and converted them into tiff's and then from there back to jpegs but they would still not open in camera raw. They had adobe RGB profile and were 8bits. I tested Camera raw with jpegs I had shot recently on my V Lux ( love it) and they opened correctly. Why wouldn't my scanned ( Nikon scanner) jpegs open in camera raw? thanks, Robin. 24inch Intel iMac.

Guest roey Posted June 8, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted June 8, 2007 The CS3 version of Camera Raw can open Jpegs. How do you try to open them? And what happens when you do it? Nothing? Error message?
phlogiston1 Posted June 8, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted June 8, 2007 CS3 Raw converter will open Tiff's and jpegs if you select them in the prefs. This is a great feature! Roey, nothing happens and the "open with raw converter" in the file menue is greyed out.??? I try and open them in the usual way with the keyboars short-cut. Robin. Guest roey Posted June 8, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted June 8, 2007 I assume that you are trying to open it in Bridge, which should work. Have you tried it in Photoshop as well? Maybe it will tell you what it doesn't like about the file. To do that choose Open... from the File menu, select the file in question and *then* choose Camera Raw in the Formt pop-up before you OK the dialog.
