corkscrew Posted June 18, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have seen various threads relating to flash (both on and off camera) and despite trawling the web have been unable to find a heads up on what triggers I can use on the Q that will support HHS. Does anyone here shoot HSS and if so can you please advise what triggers you are using and maximum speed? I have Skyports and PW TT triggers at home (primarily for use with Quadras) but would prefer to use one or two SB800s for portability reasons. Thoughts and comments greatly appreciated
Advertisement Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Hi corkscrew, Take a look here High speed sync. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
millsart Posted June 18, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 18, 2016 Don't really need it. The Q has a leaf shutter, so it can sync up to 1/2000th with manual flash, without needing to deal with the compromises of HSS such as greatly reduced flash power.
corkscrew Posted June 19, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted June 19, 2016 Thank you - are you saying that I can basically shoot at 1/2000 using a standard radio trigger with no issues?
matlep Posted June 19, 2016 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2016 Thank you - are you saying that I can basically shoot at 1/2000 using a standard radio trigger with no issues? Yes. In theory. I have tried with my cheap no name radio trigger and it syncs at 1/2000th. But I cant swear that it absolutely will work with every trigegr out there. But as Milisart says. No specific HSS is needed. dancook Posted June 19, 2016 Share #5 Posted June 19, 2016 I tested with a flash a while back... I don't think 1/2000th worked, 1/1600th worked with certain aperture, 1/1250th worked consistently. Synced at 1/1250th with off camera Gofox flash in manual. Kill Bill by dancook1982, on Flickr

Kerry3578 Posted December 31, 2019 Share #7 Posted December 31, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just tested my flashpoint flash for my Sony camera on the Q2 and the flash does not work, however I used a Fuji R2 Pro Mark II transmitter on the Q2 and it does trigger my Sony flash in manual mode It also works at 1/2000 shutter speed. It does not work any higher using electronic shutter.
