I've seen no info on replaced AF gear being different to the original. When I spoke to a Leica tech he hinted they had to consume the current spare part stock before a new gear would be introduced.

My experience with this is this; I am buying the Leica S007 from the Leica dealer in Scotland, but I live in Malaysia. If I go to the Leica store in Malaysia with a problem with my camera, they will tell me to go to the Leica store in Scotland (My mates store in KL has been shut down now for about 6 months due to lack of supplies and sales) So basically I am in stook.

I am not bothered about the lenses, my 70mm has got the new motor and if my other lenses crap out I will ask the remaining Leica store in KL to send my lens to Singapore to get fixed.............. Apparently they can fix the lenses in Singapore now so the turn around shouldn't be to long !!

 

 

Not as far as I know. It seems that Leica Singapore hasn't the ability to fix anything to do with the S except for putting the strap on. 3 of my under used S lenses, namely the 70mm CS, 120mm and the 180mm have focus problems. Apparently, it's something to do with a broken plastic part (supplier QC issues) within the focusing mechanism of the lens and can only be replaced in Germany.

 

I am currently awaiting the return of my 120mm from Germany and it's fast approaching 12 weeks.
