sillbeers15 Posted July 20, 2016 Share #61 Posted July 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Keeping both the M and the SL is a great solution, if one has both or can keep both. More than "the compact experience", I'd keep my M for "the rangefinder experience". the SL is not much bigger than a M, and just slightly heavier; but seeing the world through a rangefinder or an EVF is a completely different experience. Just my .02. Best, Vieri Yeah, I have not touched my M240 since acquiring the SL601 as I have been trying out the limits of the AF system. However my coming trip to Tohoku region in late August, I plan to ditch my SL and just bring along my M240 + 35Lux. Reason such that I am there for a conference and I do not want to be seen slugging around with a "big camera". I'll will sling along a lightweight tripod and a ND filter as I plan to visit the shrines up in the mountains over the weekend. Hopefully I will not be too early to catch the Japanese autumn scene then.

Sounds like a good lpan - while the SL is not much bigger than the M, especially with a 35 lux attached, it definitely "looks the part" of a big camera much more than the M does. I'd bring a Grad ND as well, just in case you need to balance exposure with the sky. Have a great time shooting and post some images for us to see Best, Vieri
