dgktkr Posted May 14, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Would anyone else out there use focus bracketing if it were available? Bracketing is done with exposure, why not with focus? I imagine it would be possible to program the firmware to do it with the SL. There would be a menu for the user to set the focus step multipliers, say -1 to +2 and the size of the focus step in units of depth of field (equivalent to the focus scale shown on manual focus lenses and depends on F-number). When you press the shutter release, a series of images would be taken with the focus shifted slightly between each one. I like to take macro shots and often enough no matter how careful I try to be during image capture, I wish I had placed the focus differently when I view the image later on my computer. It would be nice to have the camera automatically take a series of photos in quick succession with slightly different focus for each one. dgktkr

LD_50 Posted May 14, 2016 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2016 If Leica releases a macro lens I would welcome this feature. Olympus has this feature implemented in the OMD-EM1 and probably other cameras and it appears to me to be very useful.
