dist Posted June 6, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted June 6, 2007 I haven't heard of anyone having had to clean their D3/L1's sensor yet. I reckon there are two reasons: First, the sensor is not fully exposed due to the mirror in front of it, and second, and maybe more importantly, the sensor is self cleaning to some extent. Each time you turn on the camera the sensor does a little ultrasonic dance to shed dust particles (makes me wonder where they end up ) So, as far as your original question is concerned, the answer is no on both counts.
