Advertisement Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Hi Sprintmedley, Take a look here 64g card picture capacity on q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
matlep Posted April 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2016 About 1300 images (approx.)
Sprintmedley Posted April 12, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted April 12, 2016 Thank you. Is there a way to monitor remaining picture count on the queue.? I have searched and I cannot find anything but the running picture count.
matlep Posted April 12, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2016 Thank you. Is there a way to monitor remaining picture count on the queue.? I have searched and I cannot find anything but the running picture count. Yes, there is a number visible on the screen which show you how many shots you have left. The number also changes depending on if you choose 50mm/35mm/28mm jpegs reflecting the current remaining shots.

katsanes Posted April 12, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 12, 2016 About 1300 images (approx.) That is correct, but boy does it seem/feel low! Man, these are some big DNG files! Bonus tip: In Lightroom, if you go to (in Library Module) Metadata -> 'Update DNG preview and Metadata' on the DNG files, they reduce in size by about 25-33%. Leica Guy Posted April 12, 2016 Share #9 Posted April 12, 2016 I'll try that trick. Wonder how they are compressing that much? I'll have to examine IQ and look for any subtle differences.
marchyman Posted April 13, 2016 Share #10 Posted April 13, 2016 I believe DNG compression is lossless -- you'll not see any differences between the compressed and uncompressed images. I am somewhat surprised that the Q doesn't compress the DNGs. The M does.
katsanes Posted April 13, 2016 Share #11 Posted April 13, 2016 I hadn't done mine in a while, on my small library (of Q images anyhow) I saved over 12gb. If I recall correctly, LR is simply removing the "white space" in the DNG files (compressing essentially).
Sprintmedley Posted April 15, 2016 Author Share #12 Posted April 15, 2016 I'm at 1400 plus right now on a 64g using a mix of 28, 35, and 50mm shots with about 225 remaining. BTW I'm cycling in rain and wind in Portugal and Spain and the Q is weathering quite nicely.
