Wayne Posted March 24, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted March 24, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering the purchase of one of these lenses. I have read many of the posts concerning the flare problems associated with the lens. In comparison to the flare problems I find in my 50mm 1.5 Summarit, is the problem associated with the Summilux about the same,? a bit better controlled,? considerably better controlled? Â Under most circumstances, I am able to live with the problems associated with the Summarit; but in some circumstances it does make the lens unusable. If the Summilux does not share the latter attribute, I will likely go ahead with the purchase. Â I intend to use the lens primarily with film. Advertisement Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Hi Wayne, Take a look here Question about 35 Summilux non asph. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
russell Posted March 25, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted March 25, 2016 It can flare when there is a strong light source just at the edge of the frame. Â But that's not ever bothered me. Â The 0.9m focus is the real compromise when I decide not to use it, not the flare factor.
Wayne Posted March 25, 2016 Author Share #3 Â Posted March 25, 2016 Thanks for the information Russel. I am just going to go for it. That focus distance sounds about like my experience with the Summarit, and it has been an occasional irritation, but never anything that would cause me to not buy the lens again.
