This picture is at Dan Sing Khon, a town on the Burmese border. The view is the side of a jewelry shop, where people simply dump garbage, mostly plastic bags. Bangkok is generally a clean city, and so are small villages throughout Thailand. But in towns throughout the country, where  populations of various ethnic groups have have migrated and where traditional village life has broken down and modern city government has not yet emerged, garbage just piles up.

Couldn't resist a long leisurely walk on the beach on Christmas Day.............so here we were on the 25th of December, mind you, breezy, almost 60 degrees ( F ) and a clear blue sky - felt like spring.

On the other hand, it looks like the beginning of another draught cycle.
