Hi Guys,

Just finished setting up my new SL. Wondering if there is anyway to assign the EC to the click wheel like on the M240. I currently assigned it to the BL soft key but it would be great if it was possible to make it behave like the M. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

No - this is a request for a future firmware update from several here

Aside from usability issues for the SL alone, it would be nice to have both M and SL have similar ways of working for the same tasks. It would be one fewer thing to have to mentally adjust to when I pick up one or the other.

As Paul said, direct EV compensation is not available with the current firmware. Hopefully they add that ... it would be a plus, particularly for use with R or M lenses where the dials are currently unused in A mode.

After some experiments, I've found that putting EV Compensation on the upper-right button matched with ISO on the lower-right works best for me, but you'll have fun working through the combinations of assignments until you find what works best for you.

Enjoy your SL!

I have customised the front function button to activate the exposure compensation and I use the back click wheel with my thumb to set it.

It is then easy to set EC while looking in the EVF.

I tried that, but for me pushing the FN button with fore or middle finger is a more awkward than pressing the UR button with my thumb, then tapping the compensation adjustment with the jog button.

It's all good, though ... Our hands and motor control are all a little different.  :) Whatever works well for you is best!
