NB23 Posted September 23, 2016 Author Share #205 Posted September 23, 2016 A few things struck me while in the darkroom. This year I've printed around 1500 contact sheets. About 1000 from old negatives that I'm reorganizing and about 500 from films I shot this year alone. As time goes by, I tend to shoot more. There was a time when (I was a poor teenager) 40 films for a month long trip was more than enough. And I'd come back with quite a few worthy images. Now? Now that I have almost no free time, kids, business and all kinds of reaponsibilities, I bring 100 rolls for a 10 days trip and I could do even more. I love film photography so much that I realized that if I could, I'd drink Ilfotec-HC as a daily diet. I'd buy 1000 rolls of films just to make sure. That's on top of he 650 rolls that I currently have. I can't keep up with the printing and yet I'm burning through more and more film.

And/or, perhaps some referrals for psychotherapists in your area? LOL I have neither, but let me know if you come across any good psychotherapists in NYC for your condition... And/or, perhaps some referrals for psychotherapists in your area? LOL I have neither, but let me know if you come across any good psychotherapists in NYC for your condition... I was simply trying to start a conversation about the love of photography and its craft. The passion. The not so serious things in life. The foolish. I don't know psychotherapists in nyc but I know a few photography teachers.
A miller Posted September 25, 2016 Share #208 Posted September 25, 2016 Yeah, a photography teacher in NYC sounds like the holy grail existence for you
Pete.C Posted September 25, 2016 Share #209 Posted September 25, 2016 Just gone through this thread, excellent set of images Ned. You have a great eye for composition and timing. It is true that a lot of street photography is repetitive, but I find your work very inspiring. I dont know how you find the time to shoot that much film and develop and print it! A miller Posted September 25, 2016 Share #212 Posted September 25, 2016 Actually, I was going to refer them to you. Of course that's what you meant. And please, send them my way! And if you can find one that it also an experienced tooling engineer that would be great so we can each obsessively discuss the materials out of which are cameras are made. Steve Ricoh Posted September 26, 2016 Share #216 Posted September 26, 2016 Most of your shots are good, the last one is brilliant; just wish I'd taken it.
Steve Ricoh Posted September 26, 2016 Share #217 Posted September 26, 2016 Actually, I was going to refer them to you. Most stuff I look at on FB, Twitter Instagram etc are so repetitive - it's refreshing to see street from a different perspective. Whether Ned could teach his style I'm not sure, it's more to do with personal vision.
A miller Posted September 26, 2016 Share #218 Posted September 26, 2016 It's more to do with personal vision. EXACTLY. Agree 100% There is no right answer. People have different ways of seeing and should find their own style (which I'm convinced everyone has) and not try to immolate others, which is no way to live.
