pop Posted February 25, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2016 That has been on my wish list for some time, and not only for the X Vario. After all, the shutter release in each and every single digital camera is nothing but a contact which has to be closed to release the shutter. In most cameras, there are two contacts, one for the "half press" and one for the "full press". External contacts have been available since the dark ages of the Digilux 2. As a matter of fact, I have one of those remotes. It would be straight forward to include a small socket in parallel to the contacts present in the built in release. I'm all thumbs. Otherwise, I think I'd have opened my M by now and soldered in a socket somewhere.
ronnjay Posted February 25, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted February 25, 2016 2WK....That's what I was afraid of. I didn't want to touch the camera to initiate a photo. pop....Exactly correct. It would of been so easy to use a couple of unused pins in one of the present connectors or even add an additional small connector to accommodate such housekeeping chores. 2wk Posted February 28, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 28, 2016 I've tried using the usb connected to my Mac with Image Capture to no avail, although it works with my MM. The only other thing I could think of would be a pocket wizard in remote mode, but I doubt that works.
