Here is an updated comparison of the lot ..... MM, M246, M240, SL at various ISO's Straight B&W image conversions in LR for the M240 and SL shots. All at F5.6 with the Apo 50/2, tripod and timed release. I used my local church .... which is now almost as ubiquitous as Sean Reids 'Vegetable Tableaux and Hillbilly Day Out' photos ...... Please note we have things called clouds most of the time in the UK that make comparative photography a bit difficult as light levels vary greatly ..... often from minute to minute. Tried base ISO on the SL ...... but nil to compare with ...... and 400 as the nearest to 320 on the other cameras. All images adjusted to equalise exposure as near as possible and the sharpening and NR individually juggled to get the best compromise of detail and low noise ....... fairly obviously as ISO climbs the potential for sharpening diminishes and more NR needs applying ...... and this is my take on what is really a personal choice ..... but it is uniform throughout and it is general comparisons that matter...... Added 25000 on the SL .... but this is really a 'being abducted by aliens ... must get a shot at all costs' option .... Overall shot first ........ then a series of crops. Enjoy !
