Since it is a ghastly wave I think the faces in that picture in discussion are very good in their bright toning because it is an awkward sitution and people are a bit upset. Thank you Mija, you're right about the expressions, the more I look at them the more I think they should not be too dark, as Iduna suggested, a bit of PP to show their expressions won't hurt.
