omllr Posted February 7, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anybody know where I can have the rubberized eyepiece ring changed with a new one on my M6 TTL? I know it is molded onto the eyepiece, so it seems that I can´t do it myself. I live in Norway, so europe will be the best countries to send to I suppose. Solms in Germany or others? Will it be very expensive? Thanks in advance

chrism Posted February 7, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2016 I think they just pull off and push on. I bought a replacement from DAG for my M2. Here's the link: http://www.dagcamera.com/store/p109/Plastic_Eyepiece_Guard_for_all_metal_M_eyepieces.html Chris
omllr Posted February 7, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted February 7, 2016 Thank you for your answer. I have contacted him, and he did´t have any that fits M 6 TTL. The one you link to is for M 2 and does not fit M 6 TTL. The one for M6 is vulcanised to the eyepiece.
pico Posted February 7, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 7, 2016 I find it unusual for the M6 to have a lenspiece different from M3 to M9 (M12 × 0.5 thread). Here is a link to what I use on the M7. They should all be the same. No? Try unscrewing your eye piece.
madNbad Posted February 7, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 7, 2016 Contact Leica Customer Service and order a new eypiece. You may need to order a plastic wrench to aid in the removal of the old one. They are screwed into the top plate.

omllr Posted February 7, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted February 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is the answer I got from DAG: "the rubberized eyepiece on your Leica camera is molded onto the eyepiece. Once the rubber gets bad there's really nothing that can be done except to cover it with tape or something like that. A new eyepiece is around $100.00 & the original eyepiece is glued onto the top cover so its very difficult to remove regards, Don DAG" So, What to do?
