portocar Posted June 1, 2007 Share #1 Β Posted June 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I need a Leica diopter +1.5 for the New Universal Wide-Angle Viewfinder - the frankenfinder. It uses the same diopters as the R8 or R9. Unfortunately, they only come in whole steps 1, 2, 3, etc.. Does anyone have a solution?

glenerrolrd Posted June 1, 2007 Share #2 Β Posted June 1, 2007 Do you know for sure what the standard diopter of the "frankenfinder" is? The M8 for example is a -0.5. I just did this with a Zeiss finder and could not really determine my starting point on the Zeiss finder. . I use a +1.0 on my M8 and got a+ 1.0 for the Zeiss 21mm finder (which I use for my WATE). Big improvement . The other frequently encountered problem was determining what diopter you need to see clearly at 2 meters...in my case this was much different form my reading glass formula(+1.5) as my eyes get better with distance.
