Brad Maestas Posted January 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, I wondered if you might take a look at this and give me your opinion. A few months ago I noticed this line that transects the upper right corner of the focusing patch. I don't remember this being present when I bought the camera but it's entirely possible I overlooked it since it's only noticeable in certain conditions. I baby my gear and it hasn't taken any hard knocks since I've owned it. I'm trying to figure out what this could possibly be. I will eventually be sending it off for the VF upgrade and a CLA but if this is a crack in one of the components I might be looking at an even more costly service. Any ideas? wattsy Posted January 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2016 Possibly a slight decementing or desilvering of the prism(s) in the rangefinder?
philipus Posted January 21, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 21, 2016 It could also be a hair or some debris. See this thread.
Brad Maestas Posted January 22, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted January 22, 2016 Thanks for the replies. Well I took a blower to the inside of the mount and no change. It doesn't really bother me all that much so I suppose I'll just live with it until I can get it looked at.
