Schrödinger's cat Posted January 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2016 Apologies if I reply in English, my two years of high school German is simply not up to the task and I somehow seem to have accidentally gotten into the German forum. I have the silver version on a chrome M240 M-P and quite like it. I have not seen the other finish version. The finish is not chrome unfortunately, and has a bit different finish than the camera body, but not offensively so. As I also use one of Luigi's cases it is pretty much a non-issue anyway. The finish does not seem very durable and is flaking off on the sharp corners of the baseplate. Functionally, it works as expected. Construction seems robust and trouble free. In actual use, whether it would be useful depends on how you photograph. For instance, we just recent returned from a two week holiday in France. As the Leica with a 32gb memory card and freshly charged battery is generally good for an entire day of typical shooting, the benefit is somewhat small. At home, I find myself frequently shooting small numbers of images testing or experimenting with various things and removing and replacing the memory card much more frequently. In this case it is much more useful.
Cyclefan Posted January 15, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted January 15, 2016 thank you for your reply, I´ll keep it how it is then. basically I don´t mind taking the baseplate off completely. Furthermore it´s actually too expensive and I wouldn´t be satisfied if there were such problems then.
Schrödinger's cat Posted January 16, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 16, 2016 I probably wouldn't have gotten it either except a friend was selling a basically brand new version very cheap. My only real complaint is the finish.
