Just wanted to let everyone know that I received my voucher's with a hand written note apologizing for delay. They have lots to do in Leica NJ

 

I sent registration in early april, so figure 8 weeks.

 

But WATE I have order confirmation but no ship date. This also after about 3 months.

 

Quality takes TIME

I've waited 5 months (!) for the WATE. Talked with Leica NJ 2 days ago and was told I'd have a response yesterday. Nothing. Don't hold your breath waiting as you'll be very blue!

I appreciate your frustration, but in my 65 years I have found an almost direct correlation between quality and the time waiting for a product. Leica may make mistakes, but they do not compromise. Whether Mercedes Benz, Patek Phillip (not a mass produced Rolex! :-)) these items are low volu8mn and sometimes use materials special ordered. I rememnber order John Widdicomb furiture; too ages (like 6-8 months.)

 

One table we have is made of persian walnut. There was enough aged wood for 11 pieces. We waited over a year. When all orders were taken, 11 tables were made, and they dropped the design. They would just NOT make it without the right material.

 

May not be exactly the same, but the DMR comes to mind.

 

Leica is not a mass producer. Think this way. With the DRM sold out the R10 more likely to come

 

Same with M8. Go buy them up- I think then comes the M9

I think you may have something confused. If you bought your M8 AFTER December 31 2006 you are not eligible for the 30% off lens deal. That was only for early buyers to make up for the trouble and time they had to go through to get the M8 fixed.

 

You say you registered in April. Could please tell us when you bought your M8?

If you did buy it AFTER December 31 2006 and you did get a certificate for the 30% off lens deal I surely want to know about it.

 

Now there is another deal where you get 2 voucher to have uncoded Leica lenses updated to the 6bit coding for free with every purchase of a NEW Leica lens (Deal ends at the end of June or July). I have bought 4 new lenses and originally got 4 vouchers for the first 2 new lenses I bought. I then bought 2 more NEW lenses and sent in the warranty card for them. Last week I got a letter from Leica NJ with 8 voucher in it and a note saying how they were sorry it took ao long and that IF I have already received the 4 vouchers from the first 2 new lens purchases that I was to just throw them away. Which I did because I had and already used all 4 of them.

They keep a record of the voucher used but I guess they don't of the ones they send out.

I bought a 50 Noct 9/06 and it came march 07!

hence the delay in registering

BTW had one of first M8's (7 Nov 06)

ordered the WATE when the paperwork came through.

 

I do not think I am getting or expecting anything that I shouldn't (however, I never said I used a 30% for the WATE :-)
