Advertisement Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Hi tbrusty, Take a look here Q and the Sf 26. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
deardorff8x10 Posted December 31, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 31, 2015 The flash works well with the Q in TTL mode. It uses 2 aaa, but I don't know how long they last, as I don't use it that much. There is a menu setting to adjust exposure comp for the flash. It might be possible to set a button on the Q for that, but I haven't really looked into it. I plan on using it a lot tonight New Year's Eve in the US and could report back on battery life. Size seems good. There is a pop up diffuser, but I tend not to use it and have very slight fall off on the edges.
alee Posted December 31, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 31, 2015 Does using the hood cast a shadow when taking photos with the SF26?
alexander Posted January 3, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 3, 2016 use the new SF 40 works perfekt........ on Q
KariP Posted January 3, 2016 Share #5 Posted January 3, 2016 SF 26 works perfectly well with Q. The flash head is so high and front there is simply no chanse for shading. And the camera +/- adjustment works OK. SF 26 is great for fill light in strong back light situations (use very short exposure time and wide aperture because the flash light is reduced by closing aperture where as the natural light is controlled with both). Use the diffusor as without it the flash illuminates 35mm lens angle and to shoot even surfaces use bounce flash or additional diffusing pouch as the light is not totally even with the diffusor (but is neglectable e.g. as fill light on faces). I like this small and light gem! Best wishes for 2016! Kari

KariP Posted January 10, 2016 Share #13 Posted January 10, 2016 Thank you Lucky! That explains the results. Now I found the built in WA diffuser. I've been using it on my M(240) with 50mm so I've had no need for diffusor and my Q is just few weeks old. Thats what happened when I just leafed through the manual.. And others - mine came from HK, bought on eBay but don't recall the seller. Glad you found it. Should test it on manual setting to see how much it lowers the guide number.
