sc_john Posted December 30, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted December 30, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) If this has already been discussed, I haven't been able to find it. I have set-up my profile for preferred settings in Leica Q, including DNG + JPG files vs JPG only in Default mode. I have saved my preferred settings as "User 1". Whenever I turn-off the Q or it goes into auto power save, it restarts in Default mode. Unless I remember to reset profile to "User 1", camera records image as JPG only. Is there a way to change Default profile or have Q start-up with my preferred settings ("User 1)? Â Love the camera, ergonomics and files, but HATE this start-up issue. Advertisement Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Hi sc_john, Take a look here Leica Q User Profiles. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Big T Posted December 30, 2015 Share #2  Posted December 30, 2015 Just tried your issue here with firmware 1.1.  I select User 1 - Take pic and turn off. Turn on and still at User 1.  I select User 2 - Same as above.  If I change a setting in any of the above (Eg: Set exposure compensation to -1) then the Q defaults back to Default as you have changed the settings for that user profile.  If I reset exposure compensation back to that user profile original setting - User 1 shows the tick once again.  Normal operation in my book.
sc_john Posted December 30, 2015 Author Share #3  Posted December 30, 2015 Big T,  Thanks for your input. Indeed, my problem was user not understanding how camera works. Changing anything in profile causes camera to revert to default. If I change it back to saved User 1 setting before camera is turned off, though, it will restart with User 1 settings.  Thanks,  John
wda Posted December 30, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted December 30, 2015 I think that is common to all Leica cameras capable of setting user presets. It is my habit to reset to my chosen preset before ending a shooting seesion. At least that is a fail-safe state in case of a rushed reshoot.
sc_john Posted December 30, 2015 Author Share #5 Â Posted December 30, 2015 wda, Â Great suggestion. That will have to be part of my standard procedure. I will also, check on start-up. Â John
