Advertisement Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Hi jim sink, Take a look here HDR with the SL ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ramarren Posted December 20, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 20, 2015 The SL can do in-camera three-exposure HDR merge to JPEG. See the manual on automatic exposure bracketing.

thighslapper Posted December 20, 2015 Share #4 Posted December 20, 2015 I have found in-camera HDR less than impressive ....... and LR's processing offering is equally awful. I have a profile set for HDR with fixed WB, iso 50, self timer and 3 shot bracketing which I can call up with a couple of button presses ....... invariably I will be using a tripod or the camera fixed on something. Oloneo Photoengine is the only HDR software that I have found that produces naturalistic images ..... all the others vary in degrees of hideousness...... I find most attempts at HDR fairly hideous. just tried it this morning. As expected, it doesn't do much for me. Hadn't heard of that processing software, I'll look them up. Edit: Ah, Windows only at this time. Oh well.

Oh well. works on a Mac with Parallels or similar and accessible direct from LR. Fast for an HDR program and a lot of adjustments available ........ I have posted a lot of HDR on the forum and no-one has noticed/commented ...... I have a selection of windows only programs on my iMac that I have used for many years so for me it was not an issue to install ...... otherwise the overhead of Windows+Parallels plus the software becomes a bit much financially ..... I have zero Windows OS or app software, don't own Parallels, and generally speaking have no need for any of it. It's not sensible for me to buy an emulation environment, OS, and app software for this one, relatively rarely used, capability. I've seen good results with Photomatix, HDRtist, and easyHDR software, all of which run on OS X. There are several others as well. But I tend not to use any of them since I usually work scenes and exposure such that HDR techniques aren't necessary to get the results I want. rmarvin Posted December 28, 2015 Share #8 Posted December 28, 2015 I've recently purchased Affinity Photo and have been playing around with it - it has a great feature called "Exposure Merging" while it is not HDR per se, it does create a very natural looking finished image. You can see a tutorial/demo of how that works here: At the moment it only works on Macintosh and can be purchased online at the Macintosh app store. Right now it's on sale for $39.99 USD.
