B&W Posted June 1, 2007 Share #41 Posted June 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The 75 lux arrived this afternoon. Too late to even look at files tonight, but thanks for the suggestions. Guy, Bill--I had forgotten about Leicagoodies, and the addition of the STEER to the lens seems a great idea. In the meantime, thanks for the suggestion about the filter. In fact, the thin filter seems to be a good idea, as I tend to skip using lens caps, anyway, as I'm always losing them. Now to find a 1.25x magnifier.... Thanks all, Norm Congratulations! I'm still dreaming but need to decide soon

woodyspedden Posted June 2, 2007 Share #43 Posted June 2, 2007 Won't argue with you there my friend. That DMR and 180 F2 drew a lot of attention. LOL I also sold my 180 Cron. Damn, wish I had not Woody
norm_snyder Posted June 4, 2007 Share #44 Posted June 4, 2007 Well, it took a couple of days, but these are examples with the v.1 75mm Summilux, f1.4, and at the dark end of "available" light. Where is that table top tripod? The first is at iso 640, 1/60th, the second also at 1.4, iso 640, 1/45th, I think, but it has been "pushed" [amplified?] about 1 1/2 stops. There will be a learning curve with this lens, but once I learn it, I think it will be rewarding to use. I plan on pairing it with the 35mm nokton, as the 35 Summilux ASPH is a bit too dear right now. Post production was mainly level changes, done in layers in the first shot, as the lighting levels on the two figures were vastly different. Grayscale conversion was in Camera Raw, using CS3. The graininess in both looks more like film than digital, at least up to about 10x15". --Norm Welcome, dear visitor!
