tthorne Posted December 15, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been really excited since deciding to move to Medium Format for my architectural work, but equally disappointed in my PC lens and movement options. I have made a ton of calls and done a lot of google searches and not I am wondering about a particular option. As soon as I can piece this together, I am either picking up a 006 or possibly even 007. Novoflex makes a bellows system called Castbal that is pretty compact. http://www.sansmirror.com/_Media/novoflex_med.jpeg They do sell a rear adapter that fits directly to a Leica S camera. Ok, great. Then they sell an adapter for the front that mounts a Copal #0 shutter. So theoretically, a lens like the Schneider 35mm APO-Digitar with a Copal #0 shutter should mount, and with a 90mm image circle, there is room for some movement. So where I am stuck is with focussing. I have never had to piece something together like this and am wondering if there will be a flange distance/register issue that will make this setup ultimately unable to focus to infinity. I am also wondering how difficult or easy this will be to focus if I go with the 006 which does not have live view. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. Manolo Laguillo Posted December 15, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2015 Do you mean this: http://www.novoflex.com/de/produkte/makrofotografie--blitztechnik/balgengeraete/universal-balgengeraete-fuer-leica-neu/ Novoflex sell this set with a 90 mm... Too long... But let's think together! :-) 1. Regarding framing, composing and focusing: we don't need liveview, we have a beautiful viewfinder! 2. Regarding focusing at infinity: what's the distance the Schneider 35 APO-Digitar needs behind it for that? The flange distance of the Leica S is 50 mm. The question is: will it be enough? In other words: using a S lens on a M camera is feasible, but not a M lens on a S camera. In any case, the bellow will be tightly compressed, and shifting will become impossible, unless a wide angle soft bellow substitutes the standard one.
