Guest Posted December 23, 2015 Share #21 Posted December 23, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is just weird..... But before I say why it's so I want to thank everyone again for their responses, opinions and advice offered to the question I originally posed, Leica S Buying Advice. So here's the "weird" thing, as I said a couple of posts back on this thread I was going to dust off my Pentax 67 & 67II kits and take the lenses out for a test drive to see if I still liked them enough to seriously consider using them on a Leica S kit that I'd buy when I figured out which S would work for my larger format requirements. The 67's haven't been out for at least three, probably four years, I even forgot some handling functions, but soon enough everything came back just fine. I've shot maybe 20 rolls, mostly B&W, and the results are spectacular. I love the look of the glass, the film stocks again, ( FP4, TriX and Delta ), and even love the handling of the beasts themselves. That "clonk" as the shutter fires is wonderful! So I've decided to "park" my present quest for an S. For the money the type 006 whilst having a preferred CCD sensor is just too slow in the useful ISO ranges it offers, while the 007 CMOS camera is too much to lay out for the present use I have for such a piece of gear. We're seeing very nice condition 006's going now for less than $5000, that's nuts. Maybe in a year or so the 007 will be much more affordable too and if so I am sure I'll revisit the interest I have in the system. Who knows, by then the 006 maybe a few grand! Meantime I'm buying 120 film again. Again thank you all.......
