Steve Ricoh Posted December 3, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got round to registering my M240, and having entered the TAN, I now have an Adobe Lightroom redemption code. I'm currently running LR5.7, which I purchased long before getting the M240, so it would be pointless getting another version of LR at the same or an earlier version. On the other hand, if the redemption code enables me to download version 6.x, that would be a different matter altogether. Anyone done this recently, and if so what version of LR did you get. Peter Kilmister Posted December 3, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2015 About 2 months ago I did what you have just done and when I did the download it gave me LR 6.1.
Steve Ricoh Posted December 3, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted December 3, 2015 pkilmister, For clarification, like me you were running an earlier version of LR and when you did the upload it gave you 6.1.1 ? (It should be like a normal update, with no catalogue impact")
Peter Kilmister Posted December 3, 2015 Share #4 Posted December 3, 2015 Steve, Yes. However, now you ask, I think I uninstalled LR 5 before downloading and installing LR 6. (I'd run a backup just before uninstalling LR 5 so that I could get everything back if all went wrong.) Peter

Jed Orme Posted December 3, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 3, 2015 I just got my M-240 last week & a couple of days ago logged on with my TAN code. It downloaded Lightroom version 6.3, which I assume is their latest version. Hope this helps.
Jed Orme Posted December 3, 2015 Share #7 Posted December 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Forgot to mention that I already had an older Lightroom 4 version I was no longer using, having switched over to Aperture when Adobe went subscription. And it did not update my older version but rather installed only the newer version. With your more recent one, it might be able just to update it, but I am not all that knowledgeable about LR these days.
wda Posted December 3, 2015 Share #8 Posted December 3, 2015 In my experience of upgrading one generation, the new download installs after it uninstalls the older version. I cannot ever recall having to uninstall myself.
Steve Ricoh Posted December 3, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted December 3, 2015 Having downloaded LR 6.0 using the redemption code, I now have two separate versions on my desktop, v5.7 and 6.3. Thanks to all for their advice. :-)
