The Q and the Adobe Lightroom download version

I know that this has been decussed in other threads but I am still confused!  I used the TAN code that came with my Q to upgrade to Lightroom 6.  I already had Lightroom 5 but figured that using the TAN code for the upgrade was a reasonable (non) use of my money.

Now, however, I keep seeing references to Adobe CC (Creative Cloud).  For example, when I downloaded Adobe's first update to version 6 all I saw were references to Adobe CC.  Although, the Lightroom "about" dialog telles me that I now have Lightroom version 6.3.  If it makes a difference I am using a Mac.

So, have I inadvertently signed on to Adobe's Creative Cloud subscription plan?  I thought that Adobe was going to maintain their perpetual license plan for Lightroom. Did I inadvertently download the wrong version of Lightroom?  Do I have to be "on-line" so that Adobe can periodically check to see that I have a licensed copy of their software?

Adobe CC subscribers (about $10/mo for the Photog package that also includes photoshop) get a few features that is not available with the perpetual version of Lightroom.  6.3 is the perpetual version number.  There are mumblings that the 6.x branch might be the last branch for the perpetual license.  I don't know if that is the Adobe official line or rumor.

The big difference is that the perpetual license version is good for as long as it will run on whatever OS you use.   The CC version goes into a reduced functionality mode if you stop paying Adobe the monthly fee.  Reduced meaning you can look at old images but not edit new.  Or something like that.   Unspecified is weather the perpetual version will work with future raw camera formats should Adobe stop supporting the app.

Thank you all for clarifying my situation this helps explain what, in fact, I actually have.  It would sure help, when downloading updates, if Adobe would not refer to Creative Cloud if the Lightroom CC version is not what is being licensed.

One thing I am not getting is why there appears to be no lens profile for the Q in Lightroom.

Am I missing something?

When you look at the Lens Corrections settings there is an info you can click, and then you get the following:

LEICA Q (Typ 116)

28.0 mm f/1.7

"This raw file contains a built-in lens profile for correcting distortion and chromatic aberration. The profile has already been applied automatically to this image."
