Giulio Zanni Posted November 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) On my Monochrome type 246 I have noticed that if I take a long exposure in B mode of 60 sec. with the diaphragm set to f8, in the exif data it shows it was taken at f4. Is the camera changing the diaphragm or are these mistakes in writing the exif data? Thank you, Giulio
Advertisement Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Hi Giulio Zanni, Take a look here Long exposure in B and diaphragm setting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pop Posted November 29, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2015 The camera hasn't the foggiest notion of the f-stop you've set. It guesses that by comparing the light arriving at the sensor with the light entering the small eye in front of the camera. Sometimes it guesses right, sometimes not. Giulio Zanni Posted November 29, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted November 29, 2015 The camera hasn't the foggiest notion of the f-stop you've set. It guesses that by comparing the light arriving at the sensor with the light entering the small eye in front of the camera. Sometimes it guesses right, sometimes not. Thank you, that's reassuring. I couldn't care less of the exif data but since I have already to struggle with the 60 sec. ceiling and the mandatory long exposure noise reduction I was afraid of new limitations. Giulio Zanni Posted December 14, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted December 14, 2015 It does the same thing with the EVF in A, it just can't get the aperture right in the exif data. I tried two bodies. I works fine without EVF
