Advertisement Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Hi Clemgill, Take a look here Charging through the USB port?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Sulis Posted January 25, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 25, 2017 Sadly, yes. I do not understand those people who complain about cameras with USB charging - mostly, it's about the fact that they need to buy a separate charger. OK, there is that. But the usefulness of not having to take a clunky brick, thick cable and UK plug around with you just to charge a tiny battery overwhelms all such concerns for me. Herve5 Posted January 25, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 25, 2017 Additionally, I think charging the battery outside of the cam allows both faster charges and less danger (to the cam) Indeed, while I'd appreciate that tethering the cam would maintain the battery level, even if charge-via-USB was available, I wouldn't use it. With two batteries, I just swap them as soon as the power bars get low, and recharge outside... (and I sleep better when on a long photo trip ;-)
