sumolux Posted November 19, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 19, 2015 Bravo Leica! Need to see the details, but grateful they are listening to certain wishes for a simple M....
Philinflash Posted November 19, 2015 Share #5 Posted November 19, 2015 A great and sensible additional to the range.
edwardkaraa Posted November 19, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 19, 2015 This is what I would buy if I didn't have the M240.
Bill Livingston Posted November 19, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 19, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Excellent! As I posted in the other thread... I actually like the flexibility of my Leica M240P, even if I don't use it that much, and I much prefer the look of the M-P version with the traditional script on the brass top plate... but for those that objected to video or Live View, this is a very nice option. The reduction in price will suggest to some that there was in fact a cost to Live View or video, but I suppose we will just have to grit our teeth and let them think that... the real reason for the reduction is to allow Leica to offer a simpler version of the M in order for them to reduce the price and increase sales prior to a new model next year. This is effectively the new M-E I suppose... Good move... and hopefully a successful one! No excuse now for some of those who fought against the original M or the M-P!!! stevelap Posted November 19, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 19, 2015 There is already an earlier M262 thread (pinned, started by Admin), how about merging them mods?
biglou Posted November 19, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 19, 2015 Happy, i passed the M240 but will not resist this one.
lpeeples Posted November 19, 2015 Share #10 Posted November 19, 2015 It is a nice option for some. As Bill said above, for wide lenses, I do like the live view for composing instead of a external viewfinder. Hopefully it brings more users in especially more folks interested in used lenses for those selling them.
