leicapfile Posted May 29, 2007 Share #21 Posted May 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) E. Leitz actually made a back to back rear cap for two M lenses in the late 50's, early 60's. You'll see them on the auction site now and then. Jerry

carstenw Posted May 30, 2007 Share #22 Posted May 30, 2007 Novoflex has a neat product which I have not tried yet, but mean to: Novoflex It is a kinda soft blue wrap with a little velcro, which can be wrapped around a lens. Should be ideal for small bags with little room. I just ordered three of the small wraps (20x20cm) for lenses, the WATE finder, the Macro adapter, and so on, and I will report back when I have used them a bit. carstenw Posted June 11, 2007 Share #23 Posted June 11, 2007 Well, I got the Novoflex wraps and have used them enough to form an opinion. I find them neat. They are easy to wrap things in, and they stay closed when velcroed, at least so far. They also do more to protect the object they wrap than just a little piece of cloth or sack, but here is also the downside: they are quite thick, being made of a similar material to scuba diving neoprene, and so a lens wrapped in one of these is as large, more or less, as the same lens in its own leather case. For this reason I will probably mostly use them while travelling, and not around town.

Kent10D Posted June 11, 2007 Author Share #25 Posted June 11, 2007 Carsten, Hi, and thanks for reporting back on those Novoflex wraps. Sounds like you could wrap a few lenses in those and stuff them in the bottom of a bag, and even pile more stuff on top of them, without worrying about damage too much. But as you point out, the size might be a bit much for around-town shooting. I'm assuming that they might not provide quick access? Jan, A Pelicase should provide plenty of protection! But do you actually carry the thing over your shoulder while walking around, or is it just something you throw (gently) in the car? Or, small Pelicase inside another shoulder bag, for example? Cheers, Kent.
