squiff Posted May 31, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2007 magnificant catch of Haleakela, and I love the dogs expression! s
kuddel Posted May 31, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 31, 2007 Bradley, I like the picture with the dog. I watched it for a while and it is somehow spooky to me. Although the sharpness is behind the dog you feel how the dog is watching you. Regards, Andreas
elansprint72 Posted May 31, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 31, 2007 Brad, Neither of these images look like they should/could sit on a flat piece of paper- excellent! Squiff, Brad, Both of you must post more often.
dan_drabek Posted June 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 1, 2007 Both shots are engaging and out of the "ordinary". Nice work. DD
andybarton Posted June 1, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 1, 2007 The second one is outstanding - in every sense of the word. When Nocti shots are done properly, they have a completely "other-worldy" look to them.

bradreiman Posted June 2, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted June 2, 2007 Thank you all for the kind comments. The second shot is, to me, one of the best photographs I've ever made. I'm glad others see in it what I see. It has a seriousness and a bit of humor that only come together on the rarest of occasions, I was mostly just lucky to be there at that moment. My partner and I were pulled over on the side of the road for a mobile call from my parents congratulating us on our engagement. (I know, what was I doing thinking about photography?) Brad - that image isn't humorous it's downright scary! Anyone else see its potential as a book cover? I'd say the layout and ambivalence of the image gives it real sales potential. Excellent!! bradreiman Posted June 2, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted June 2, 2007 Mani-I definitely see the spookiness but I am remembering the moment as this puny little beast was yipping at me with his owners a few meters away laughing their proverbials off. Funny little dog who looks like a ghoul or something when transfered to the photographic medium. Thanks for the comment.....b
huwge Posted June 2, 2007 Share #11 Posted June 2, 2007 I think it is the spiralling of the whites of the dog's eyes that lend the picture its other-worldliness quality. Really like it. Works well in B&W as well.
squiff Posted June 2, 2007 Share #12 Posted June 2, 2007 Congratulations on your engagement Brad. your fiance is probably quite understanding about stopping to take a photo. as a leica owner I dont think it would be a harmonious relationship if my partner wasnt understanding of the pleasure we derive from a little old german camera! s
