goatsby Posted November 29, 2015 Share #21 Posted November 29, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wow, that sounds crappy. I was just about to download the TAN and upgrade from LR4 to LR6 but if you have to be logged in then its not worth it to me. Does it matter if its on a Mac or PC, or is it the same extended use trial version?

dadohead Posted November 30, 2015 Share #22 Posted November 30, 2015 I'm on a Mac. 10.6.8 on one machine and 10.10.5 on the other.
Ted Lemon Posted November 30, 2015 Share #23 Posted November 30, 2015 Wow, that sounds crappy. I was just about to download the TAN and upgrade from LR4 to LR6 but if you have to be logged in then its not worth it to me. Does it matter if its on a Mac or PC, or is it the same extended use trial version? I went from LR4.2 to LR6 using this video as a guide http://laurashoe.com/2015/04/22/video-tutorial-on-how-to-upgrade-to-lightroom-cc-6/ - worked perfectly and the advice given on re-naming catalogues etc. is very useful. I can use LR standalone without logging in to Adobe just as long as the disc with catalogue is connected or use one created on the desktop.
wda Posted November 30, 2015 Share #24 Posted November 30, 2015 This advice makes more sense and should prove helpful to members. There is a good case for Leica to clarify this issue if any draconian changes in future use of Lightroom are proposed by Adobe.
hcbrelb Posted November 30, 2015 Share #25 Posted November 30, 2015 I am not running a TAN version of LR now, but I did a year or so ago and have absolutely NO recollection that there were any issues re: needing to be online (other than to download and initial install etc) to use it.
