Is an M adapter to S technically possible?

Now that the SL can take any lens, it might also be interesting to know if an adapter from M to S is technically possible. It would of course not fill the frame, but can it be done?

Why I ask? I have an S007 with a nice selection of lenses.  I have M lenses but no M. If I can avoid buying an SL to get focus assistance for M lenses, I would be happy.

It would be a serious macro lens! Given that most R lenses, 47mm back register, do not focus very far away until you are over 180mm then the M with a back register of 27.95mm (and shorter focal lengths) will be even worse. The S is thought to be ~50mm back register, so M lenses would effectively have a 22mm extension tube, even the OUFRO (~10mm) on the M is enough IME. I have not tried my R 100mm APO on my S as I have the S 120mm. When my kit catches up with me in 5 or 6 weeks time I can mount an M lens on a Leica M>R adapter and then on my LeiKo........

Might be useful with Visoflex bellows, or using a Nikon F>M adapter with my PB4 bellows....... All will arrive in a few weeks :-)

And what about an adapter for using the S lenses on the M...?

If Leica wants to tie the M, SL and T systems together in the next M they could add those 10-12 contact pins to the mount.  An M to SL, SL to S adapters = S lenses on M.

Leica has been generous with adapters and system compatibility, and the new SL zoom could then be used on the M.   A few issues:  where to put the contacts in the M mount and weighty lenses.  Benefits:  image stabilized lenses on the M.
