tobenama Posted November 5, 2015 Author Share #41 Β Posted November 5, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Whatever you do don't fall for the King of Bokeh hype, the lens is pretty average, particularly compared to the later ASPH version V. I couldn't believe the difference when I traded up from a MK IV to a MK V. I won't. The Summicron IV was performing very poorly on night city scenes, everything not exactly on the center of the image was smeared. The lens has its uses, but a good all-rounder it isn't. I'll be keeping the Summilux pre-FLE.
Advertisement Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Hi tobenama, Take a look here 35 mm lens purchase opinions needed. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rirakuma Posted November 5, 2015 Share #42 Β Posted November 5, 2015 Performance wise the pre fle Lux Is my favourite 35. The only reason why I would choose a summicron over it is for size. In reality I wouldn't complain about either one but for the perfect balance of size performance and cost I would have to vote for a v4 cron. If you are willing to wait you will find them on sale for around the 1100 usd range. Join the Leica classifieds on Facebook and create a wtb or wait for one to pop up. Best of luck!
