andybarton Posted May 31, 2007 Share #5  Posted May 31, 2007 This looks a bit like Hanover Street, and, if it is, is part of the £1bn (US$2bn) new development that is transforming the city, and causing Gerald Grosvenor a big headache  As you can see, they are retaining this elevation, for incorporation into a new building. Underneath the soot and the flyposting, will be a worthy elevation.  Liverpool has had a reputation for under-investment and mal-administration over 50 years. For the last decade, this has not been the case, and I have never known a city be transformed in such a wholesale fashion, so quickly. I am proud to say that I am responsible for two new offices under construction in the city, with another going into planning next month. These are the precursors to a £500m scheme to create a new business quarter, larger than Spinningfields in Manchester.  Liverpool is a great city. elansprint72 Posted May 31, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted May 31, 2007 It's just down the hill from the proddy cathedral, on the right somewhere. I'm really glad that these facades are being saved; too many have been swept away, replaced by apartment blocks with grey metal railings on unusable narrow balconies. Â They're called "Juliet" balconies and meant for leaning on not standing on. Â
