pwsmith Posted October 17, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted October 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Question on the 2 second self-timer. Â I am considering the T for landscape work. Â I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 2 second self-timer needed to be reset after each use. Â Is this true please? Â I can't believe that it is but thought I should check. Â I am sure this is covered somewhere but can't find any reference to it. Â
Advertisement Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Hi pwsmith, Take a look here Self-timer question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Belle123 Posted October 17, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted October 17, 2015 I just played with the self timer to answer your question. Â You can set it to be off, 2 seconds, or 12 seconds. Â I am not seeing any option to leave it set. Â So after taking the photo, it appears to reset itself to off. Â However, this function can be moved so is easy to access with just one quick touch before you hit the shutter. Â Not a big inconvenience.

pwsmith Posted October 25, 2015 Author Share #4 Â Posted October 25, 2015 Yeah it is. Yes, to me also I regret. Â Having to reset the timer each time is essentially a deal breaker for me. Â An odd decision by Leica. Â Otherwise a very attractive landscape tool.
bencoyote Posted October 25, 2015 Share #5  Posted October 25, 2015 Yes, to me also I regret.  Having to reset the timer each time is essentially a deal breaker for me.  An odd decision by Leica.  Otherwise a very attractive landscape tool. Send a note saying as much to Leica. I think that they really need to get the message that they need to dedicate a larger percentage of their software engineering staff to post release firmware support for their products otherwise they will miss the long trail of sales post initial release. Initial release is all about marketing, and forces your HW engineers and to a lesser extent SW engineers onto a treadmill of new product releases that exhausts the consumers,  Dedicating more engineers to released product engineering allows you to maintain the long tail of sales with continual word of mouth and growing customer satisfaction. This frees your hardware engineering staff to work on real innovation between longer release cycles.
bencoyote Posted October 25, 2015 Share #6 Â Posted October 25, 2015 By the way I use the Leica T for landscapes all the time. However rarely on a tripod, many times it is just out on a hike or a bike ride and something catches my eye.
