pulliam5555 Posted October 16, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if UHS-1 is support by the Leica Q. My friend who works at Toshiba in the memory division said if it doesn't, then the UHS-1 memory will actually run slower that the standard memory. He said UHS memory shouldn't be used in cameras that don't support it. He also said for a fact Leica doesn't support UHS-2, so save your money. Anyways, what's everyone else doing? Cheers, Rob

kmak817 Posted October 16, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2015 I have a UHS-1 card in my Q, seems to work fine. I am using "Hoodman Class 10 64GB RAW Steel SDXC UHS-1 U-3 Memory Card" if that helps.

pulliam5555 Posted October 16, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted October 16, 2015 Yea, actually I just answered my own question. It is in the tech data info on the Leica webpage. It states the following are supported: SD/SDHC/SDXC, multimedia cards, speed class: UHS-1 So only UHS-2 and above would be a waste of money and probably less performance. By 'supporting' they mean UHS-l work, but not at its potential. That is due to the fact that the standard for UHS-l makes it so. The default operation is left to the host. Leica does not exploit it.
