Getting into the light

I have discovered Leica through the Panasonic lx100 (aka Typ 109 - yes I have seen the debates about them not being exactly the same).

These past six months I have again and again been struck by how much better (an understatement) the pictures are than what I get from my Canon camera and lenses, including my Tamron and Samyang lenses. My lenses are at the cheap end of the scale, even for Canon, but the lens on the Panasonic isn't more expensive, yet delivers far superior results. Which led me to think that there is something about Leica.

I am not in love with the simplicity of the Leica cameras, so prefer the Sony full frame A7R2. Nor do I like the price of the Leica cameras, including the future SL. And I do want UHD for video.

So this is my question:

Is the combination of the Sony alpha 7R2 (with metabones adaptor) and the Elmarit 28mm going to give me any practical problems? Do they work well together? The combination of the camera's focus peaking and the lens' focus knob seems ideal. I mostly photograph landscapes, buildings and other relatively static subjects.

In short:

Are there any bugs?

I use adapted R lenses on D800 series Nikons.   There is a certain clarity and contrast to them even the latest Nikon G lenses do not have.  Many times I have done comparisons, same time, same place, just change lenses.

Proper image manipulation in photoshop closes the gap substantially .

Can not answer question on 28 as wide lenses for film do not always work well on digital.
