To be honest I have shot thousands of frames at 360th with the 180, with the 007 I have auto ISO set to work on twice focal length and never get bad shots from shutter speed, composition yes, shutter speed no!

I have the HC 100 and the adapter. But it doesnt work, my S shows an error. All my other Hasselblad lenses work fine with the adapter. If I give the HC100 to Hasselblad, they'll put a firmware on it in order not to work with the H-adapter.

my leica rep told me something like that if you give hasselblad a lens for service, they'll somehow make it not work with the leica+adapter

Is there any official statement from Leica about the adapters incompatiblity with updated Hasselblad lenses?

I don't have any experience with the HC lenses, but the CF 100mm f/3.5 Planar lens is outstanding on the S, and can be had for a fraction of the cost.  The bright S viewfinder makes focusing easy.  And the V adapter is a lot less expensive than the H adapter.

I've used a 100mm Planar on my S2 previously, and you're right it's spectacular. Certainly sharpness wise (though Flickr really takes the edge off:) https://www.flickr.com/photos/131082506@N07/16277043107

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I bought a 100mm Summicron-S two days ago. I've only had 10 minutes with it, a quick jaunt outside my house. The OOF areas certainly impress: https://www.flickr.com/photos/131082506@N07/22642932281

The lens seems, from my 10 minute play, everything I hoped for. The weight is good and the AF is snappy. With the 120mm and 180mm I found the system a chore (for photographing unposed people,) but I forgave it when I saw the results. With the 100mm, while not blazingly fast in DSLR terms, the camera shoots at what you point it at and does so without any argument. I can't wait to take it on some far-flung trips.

Congratulations on your new lens, I look forward to seeing more of your work here and in flickr.

I'm disgustingly busy until next week but managed to shoot the 100mm for an hour this morning before catching a train to London.

Nothing serious, and not what I usually shoot, but there's so little about this lens out on the web I hope someone finds these shots useful.

I'm very, very impressed. It's the best lens I've ever used.
