d2mini Posted October 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok, I got some funny looks when this package was handed to me at my office, but once I was over that little bit of embarrassment I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this strap! It's nice and soft/pliable so never feels in the way. Feels really high quality, and looks it, too. Great length. Just long enough to be able to wear across the chest. Very comfortable. http://www.tieherup.eu Thanks to Mr. Thorsten Overgaard for mentioning them in his M article! This ended up being exactly what I was looking for. d2mini Posted October 7, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted October 7, 2015 Slash proof? Slash from Guns n Roses? Never bought a leather strap with slashing in mind, but maybe you can ask them to put a layer of kevlar in the middle.
FTI Posted October 8, 2015 Share #4 Posted October 8, 2015 Thanks! And they seem quite affordable comparatively speaking.
jto555 Posted October 8, 2015 Share #5 Posted October 8, 2015 Slash proof? You don't necessarily want a Slash Proof strap. For example, if the camera is grabbed by a person on a motor bike, you will want the strap to snap so you are not dragged behind the bike. I have a slash proof strap but when this was pointed out to me I removed the strap and haven't used it since. I know the strap lugs might give way, but I want to give every opportunity to not being dragged. John
Peter Kilmister Posted October 8, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 8, 2015 John makes a very sensible point. I know I go on about insurance but it is a small price to pay compared with ending up in a hospital bed for weeks. My late father who worked in a bank always stressed that if someone pointed a gun at him and demanded money then he'd just hand it over. Money (and your camera) is easily replaced. You are irreplaceable.

John Sad though it may be, considering the current state of my gross tonnage, I rather think it's more likely the miscreant would just be jerked off the bike
