For what I know the Hasselblad lens is better than the Contax 645 lens... atleast if I trust the MTF charts... it's more contrasty.

I have not used it myself on the S...

Jip,

the lens works very well an my S2. Fast AF, no problems with the adaptor.

If you drop in, you can try it, but I will see the Wereldmuseum in R. Again,

greets

Franz

Are you comming to the wereld museum in Rotterdam? When?

Yes, I have that lens. Haven't used it much though - bought it as it became available in mint condition s/h at a good price. From the limited shooting I've done with it - high contrast, sharpness fine (perhaps not at the level of Leica's own but definitely not soft). Focuses as fast as native lenses, exif data is there, everything works as advertised. The lens is not super large or heavy either. In my view, the question to answer is what you want to do with it - it's good with portraits but perhaps too long for that purpose in the S. Nice with landscape detail but needs to be stopped down for DoF, so really only usable with a tripod there; too short for birds, animals, sports (but the S is not ideal at those disciplines to begin with). I bought it for next time I go on a safari....but haven't gone on one since late 2014.
