Ken R Posted May 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am thinking of sending my Noctilux in for coding, but have a question. Does the coding of the lens apply correction for the vignetting at wider aperatures? If so, does this result in any loss of speed due to the needed correction for the darker corners? Just curious. No, it doesn't. It brings the corner levels up rather than taking the center level down. Cheers,
j. borger Posted May 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2007 Even without coding the Noctilux looses part of its character on the M8 .... which IStin large part he vignetting .........due to the sensorcrop .... so i often had to AD vignetting in post to get the "Noctilux look" on the M8. In short ... i would not want my Noctilux coded for vignet correction! You do not need coding for cyan drift corrections either ,,,,

But you can switch-down the coding over the M8 menu, if you occasionnally dont want to use it.
