johnfriar Posted May 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've just coded my 2 Zeiss lenses (28 and 50C) by hand and they're recognised by the camera. Using Lightroom, I import the photographs and can see the focal length in the EXIF metadata. Unfortunately, Lightroom doesn't seem to use focal length in the Metadata browser. Instead, it uses Lens. With my Canon 20d, bit the focal length and lens metadata is filled in. For a zoom lens, the lens field indicates the zoom range (e.g. 12-24) and the focal length indicates the approximate shooting focal length. This allows me to do a quick filter by lens, something that I find useful at times. Is there anyway to get the focal length data into the lens field for M8 coded lenses? Or am I doing something wrong with the import? Thanks for your help! John
