(on an m8 of course so crop is tighter than the focal lengths would suggest)

I agree with Palmskov ..... but this is very personal and depends on what your prefered style of streetshooting is. For me personally all your options are too wide ...

I would go with 35mm on the M8 ... which already feels significant wider compared to a 50mm on full frame!

I would just pass on Street Photography, don't invest in anything yet, sit back and think what you would really like to achieve in photograhy, and if this is street, fine ... just get a 35mm of any sort and don't forget to hold the camera at an angle .... seems to be "in" these days

Tut, tut Jan, holding the camera at an angle was soooo 1980s. You must know you're supposed to use a Lomo or a Holga these days ;-)

 

On a more serious note in 20-30 years time I guarantee that we'll find street photographs, and their representation of our times, far more interesting than the most technically perfect landscape or macro image.

do i look like i want to photograph the gesticulations of a sparrows eyebrow, 827 metres away perched on the roof of Big Ben ?
