palmskov Posted May 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This thread and the examples are not uploaded for the sake of comments but simply to show 35 and 40mm M8 examples (off course comments are welcome but not the most important) After using the M8 for about 3 months I'm sure my favorite focal length is 35mm. I also use a 40mm which I see as a 35mm more or less. I find the 35mm to cover my needs very broad and really like the idea of framing / composing by moving closer / further away from the subject. I must admit I was anxious when skipping the digilux2 zoom in favour of fixed focal length but really it's no problem. All photos are straight from the camera without any adjustment. Some of the photos need more light but again these are just for illustrating the 35mm on M8. # 1-4: Summicron M35mm asph. # 5-7: Summicrom C40mm Thanks for watching... Which is your favorite focal length by the way?
Advertisement Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hi palmskov, Take a look here 35mm asph and 40c examples. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted May 25, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 25, 2007 I have a very good copy of the 40-C but have not used it much on the M8 because I can't find a IR cut filter to fit it. Once I get my M8 back from NJ I'll have to give it another look for B&W. It works great on my M3.
palmskov Posted May 25, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted May 25, 2007 @Shootist: The 39 IR filter will fit. Have just bought one. The 40mm works really great for BW...
