Guest guy_mancuso Posted May 24, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well i go my CV 12mm and it is very nice and actually quite sharp , will run some test later but I think I screwed up my hood on it and it is really bumming me out becuase you have to have it becuase the elelment sticks out to far without it. I can't get it to tighten down there is a push screw in there and it is not working very good at all. Trying to come up with a better way to get this to stick on firmly. Anyone else have this issue or maybe a solution . I'm about a inch away from grabbing the super glue but i am resisting. Maybe I can just buy the hood? sean_reid Posted May 24, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2007 Did something happen to it? Call Stephen and ask for advice. He can probably sell you just the hood. Cheers, Sean
sergiolov Posted May 24, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2007 Guy, I had the same problem, getting worse with time. I just rethreaded the hole for a slightly larger allen screw, and it works perfectly now. Sergio
Guest guy_mancuso Posted May 24, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 24, 2007 I think what happened to it was me , I think I pulled when i should have unscrewed. Sean looks like off seems the best until we get something custom made from John and add a little from a raw program that has the cyan drift in it to fix. But it is a little sweetie so far and i do like the focusing stops in it, would have been nice if the 15mm did that
Guest guy_mancuso Posted May 24, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 24, 2007 Okay I may try that Sergio and was thinking on those lines. i knew this had to happen to someone the build on it is good but not perfect on the hood, weird design. The lens build is very nice though

morffin Posted May 25, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had the same problem...the guys at Photo Village ( NYC ) where I bought it replaced the hood. jlm Posted May 25, 2007 Share #8 Posted May 25, 2007 I've made a prototype and found that the 55 fliter glass works. It will be about a week or two before i can get the machine free to make a run. the adapter is to be black anodized aluminum, will have a threaded retaining ring for the 55 glass and will have an integrated shade. attachment to the lens will be similar to the C/V design. Hi John, Cool, I'm glad the 55 works. Have you tried it with the 486 filters as well as the Leica filters? The former have a deeper mount ring. jlm Posted May 25, 2007 Share #10 Posted May 25, 2007 my adapter will only use the glass from the filter, not the metal ring. this allows for a more compact assembly.
