Leica T - Electronic Remote Release?

Does anyone know it might be theoretically possible via a firmware upgrade, to use an electronic remote release plugged into the T 's USB port?

I'm in need of one for my current Novoflex Noflexar telescope lens with Leica T camera project … and would also enable easier use of the Leitz 400mm and 560mm Telyts.

Most cameras have this simple facility and it's so useful.

I'm aware that the T app has a remote release facility but the app is totally useless for DNG imaging.

I'm not currently at home, and my T is not with me.

My Fuji X-E1 uses a mini USB connection, for the remote, but can also use audio/mic input socket. I can try the T when I get back, but it might be a while.

I agree with the conments about the T app, it's marginal at best.

Shame that about the App. Could be a great feature, remote release, no cables needed. WiFi upload/download can be handy if no cable or SD card is available. Does not deal with DNG files?

So people, who have this working, what does this App actually do?

i heard initially, when the camera was first released, that there would be a cabled remote release "later on". it hasn't appeared & neither have any 3rd party releases appeared to fill in the gap so i think we can understand that, by now, there won't be any. it's possible the SL's remote could work on the T if the socket is the same on both & Leica shelve out a firmware update for the T. if the T app is so great then why did Leica produce a cabled remote for the SL? BECAUSE THEY'RE RELIABLE. having used wifi cards extensively, they're useful but they time out & need resetting. they're slow to transfer large files which is imo why the T app doesn't transfer dng's by default. anyone technical know if the micro usb slot is the same on T & SL & the SL cable can be used for the T's remote release?
