sblitz Posted September 8, 2015 Share #1  Posted September 8, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) The S-A runs around $1500; the V around $750 ($550 for V2) ...... forgetting for the moment the difference in focal length, which is the better lens? Pay up for a 50 year old lens or get the latest? For the moment, I am using this with film, although that can always change int he future ....  Thoughts?
Advertisement Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Hi sblitz, Take a look here Voightlander 15mm V2 or V3 versus Super-Angulon f3.4 21mm?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rramesh Posted September 9, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted September 9, 2015 Firstly the 15 and 21 are very different focal lengths and hard to compare side-by-side. The 21 SA is virtually distortion free, even better than the 21 SEM. Â However in the digital world the 21 SA exhibits strong colour shifts and additional effort is needed to removing its effect. Â The CV 15 V3 exhibits no colour shift while the V2 is somewhere in between.

Mornnb Posted September 9, 2015 Share #4  Posted September 9, 2015 Grab the V3 and u will be happy ever lasting  Agreed it is a fantastic lens. The rendering is superb. It is the best 15mm for a digital body given it's immune from colour shift issues.

bocaburger Posted September 10, 2015 Share #6  Posted September 10, 2015 The digital color shift and metering issues with M6 and up make the SA somewhat of a hassle, but it's still a good lens. I suppose it would be more utilitarian to have the 15 and crop to 21mm FOV if needed. I have the 21mm pre-ASPH Elmarit and love it, in fact I got rid of the ASPH version I had because I couldn't see a reason for the cost differential. Also have both LTM and M versions of the CV 21/4 which work well on digital (coded as 21 Pre-ASPH) and are very small.
